Alice in Wonderland syndrome (AIWS), sometimes known as Todd syndrome is a neurologic condition causing your perception of body image, space, and/or time are distorted.
Other symptoms include; micropsia, lilliputian hallucinations, other distorted senses such as an altered sense of velocity.
It is caused by a change in perception rather than the eyes themselves malfunctioning.
The most frightening symptom is often the altered body image cause you to be confused as to the size and shape of parts of his/her body. These symptoms can be shocking leading to fear and panic. Symptoms can take place multiple times a day and may take some time to disappear
It is common for sufferers of AIWS to also experience migraines, brain tumors, or the Epstein-Barr virus.
Rest is the best treatment. If migraines occur it should be cared for the same as for other migraines, with anticonvulsants, antidepressants, beta blockers, and calcium channel blockers, together with the migraine diet.
Studies have found that it can be brought on by a head trauma, though this has not been officially proven
