- The light is focused on this man, highlighting him as the protagonist of the film
- The deserted road apart from the six people creates and eerie feel and an almost post apocalyptic feel.
- It is unclear to an audience whether these people are 'good' or 'bad', creating intrigue., though from the suits they are dressed in we can see they are reasonably well off and there seems to be some togetherness and unity between them.
